Subject: Re: hi ceceliaHello;
Sorry.... I guess I should have told a little bit about myself. I am hearing, a certified interpreter, and first year graduate student at Galludet. I have been learning ASL for the past 6 years, and am finally starting for feel fairly fluent.
I am a "non-traditional" student, 38, single, and doing the "dorm" thing here at Gallaudet. I do not have any relatives that are deaf. My reason for learning to sign is that I used to be a professional clown. I felt bad that I could not communicate with a deaf child at a party, so I started learning sign language... and it has snowballed since then.
My field of study is linguistics, and my only two languages are English and ASL.Cecelia Smith
